Tokyo Ghoul Vol.1 Cover

Tokyo Ghoul follows the story of Ken Kaneki, a college student with a love for literature, who after a first date gone wrong finds himself forever changed. Now stuck between two different worlds each clashing with each other over every facet of his life, it's up to Kaneki to grow accustomed to his new Ghoul life and see if there's any hope in finding peace between his Human and Ghoul Side.
Tokyo Ghoul is a series I find myself going back to at least once a year; for all it's dark subject matter and depressive overtones I still find it being my "comfy series". The growth of Kaneki starting from him wallowing in self-pity to then being the one to take charge and start deciding how to live his life is always a sight I love to see. This series got me through one of the hardest times of my life and that might be why I look upon it so fondly but even without the emotional baggage I would still rate Tokyo Ghoul as a solid 8.5/10.
